Mma Pekwane
One of my favorite characters in No 1 Ladies Detective Agency is Mma Pekwane who is convinced that her husband has taken possession of a stolen car. Her amazing capability to solve her husband’s problem makes her a good wife. She is tactful, and idiotic. Even though her husband didn't tell her that the car was stolen, she understood that the car wasn't a gift.

She is patient. She said that she didn't believe her husband told her about the car. Consequently, she was worried about what was going to happen to her husband because of this stolen car. She couldn't sleep, and she wasn't happy, but all these emotions were concealed by her patience. She was unhappy, but she also didn't show it to her husband in their day-to-day life. She showed and treated him the same as she did before.
She decided to solve this problem by herself instead of arguing with her husband. At the end of the story, when he told her that his car was stolen, she told him to report it to the police. That means wisely she told him that the car was not a gift. She went to the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency to give the car back to its owner secretly and peacefully. Mma Ramotswe agrees to do as Mma Pekwane asks - return the car to its rightful owner. Mma Ramotswe consults JLB Matekoni on how to identify a stolen car, and he reluctantly helps her identify the Pekwane's vehicle and have it returned to its owner.
She is a good lover. By her tact and patience, she showed how much she loved her husband. Everybody knows that something stolen is not proper or ethical. Everybody knows that if something is stolen or a crime happens around their living area to call the police, but she didn't do that. It showed me how much she loved her husband and took care of her marriage. She returns the car to the owner. On the other hand, she saves her husband and her marriage. "Love will cover a multitude of sins." “Love doesn't behave rudely, it bears all things.” I love Mma Pekwane because of her tactfulness, and her ability to do right thing.

"Can woman be detective?"

Source: http://readingproject1sta.wikispaces.com/
“The Ladies’ Detective Agency,” by Alexander McCall Smith is the reflection of unchanged third world. There are many concerns regarding a woman’s temptation and challenging in third world. The author chose to focus on in their day-to-day life.  He also highlighted their strengths and success. In this book the main character, Ramotswe, has an instinctive talent for solving mysteries.
Ramotswe   faced different kind of obstacle before she reaches her goal. Her journey starts when she was 8 years old. Her mother died when she was very young.  Her father’s cousin looked after the family. She also missed her dad, and her baby, as they were both deceased. In addition, she was abandoned by her abusive husband when she was younger.  She knows what her people’s challenges’ are. Before she becomes a first female detective, she first has to face challenges from her society. For example, “Is it possible for women to become detective?”

Ramotswe learned about the differences between right and wrong at Sunday school. She was clever and kind. She loves the people of Africa and wanted to help solve their problems. She worked in the taxi company. One day she found a mistake of two thousand pula. A man lost his job and it was the beginning of her detective work. She likes to deliver justice. Spending the money she got from selling her late father’s cattle to see up a Ladies’ Detective Agency.  She also set herself up as her country’s first female detective. That the mysteries that were solve in her agency included a missing father, missing husband, and missing boy.
Ramotswe has known great love, loss, and pain in her life. On the other hand, all these circumstances made her stronger. She was determined and capable of reaching her goal and helping people. She is a fantastic protagonist. She is a woman who stands up for herself and loves Africa despite its problems.

A positive role model is someone who endures to show how to survive during a difficult time. A positive role model is someone models how to overcome an obstacle. A positive role model is someone who demonstrates maturity. One new positive role model is Katniss the protagonist in The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. The most important reason Katniss is a role model is because she is passionate, capable, and determined.

Katniss is 11, and she miss out on having father in her early childhood. She grows up without a father. Because of a rebellion, her society is significantly stratified, particularly in terms of economic and social castes. She lives with her mother and sister in the poorest area of District 12, nicknamed "The Seam." Katrniss is surrounded by many challenges at a tender age. On top of that, she has all the responsibility for her family on her back.

But that is no concern for Katniss, who supports her family through hunting game and gathering roots in the woods. Even though she is young, she handles her situation and changes her family’s future. She puts her life in jeopardy. She is determined to pay the price. The woods are dangerous due to wild animals, and it is illegal to explore or hunt there. Stealing and hunting are both punishable by death if the perpetrator is caught by the Peacekeepers or, the federal police.

Because of her passion, capability, and determination both her life, and her family’s future change. To be a successful person, you must find your passion, plan to succeed, and not ever give up.
