Mma Pekwane
One of my favorite characters in No 1 Ladies Detective Agency is Mma Pekwane who is convinced that her husband has taken possession of a stolen car. Her amazing capability to solve her husband’s problem makes her a good wife. She is tactful, and idiotic. Even though her husband didn't tell her that the car was stolen, she understood that the car wasn't a gift.

She is patient. She said that she didn't believe her husband told her about the car. Consequently, she was worried about what was going to happen to her husband because of this stolen car. She couldn't sleep, and she wasn't happy, but all these emotions were concealed by her patience. She was unhappy, but she also didn't show it to her husband in their day-to-day life. She showed and treated him the same as she did before.
She decided to solve this problem by herself instead of arguing with her husband. At the end of the story, when he told her that his car was stolen, she told him to report it to the police. That means wisely she told him that the car was not a gift. She went to the No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency to give the car back to its owner secretly and peacefully. Mma Ramotswe agrees to do as Mma Pekwane asks - return the car to its rightful owner. Mma Ramotswe consults JLB Matekoni on how to identify a stolen car, and he reluctantly helps her identify the Pekwane's vehicle and have it returned to its owner.
She is a good lover. By her tact and patience, she showed how much she loved her husband. Everybody knows that something stolen is not proper or ethical. Everybody knows that if something is stolen or a crime happens around their living area to call the police, but she didn't do that. It showed me how much she loved her husband and took care of her marriage. She returns the car to the owner. On the other hand, she saves her husband and her marriage. "Love will cover a multitude of sins." “Love doesn't behave rudely, it bears all things.” I love Mma Pekwane because of her tactfulness, and her ability to do right thing.
